About Guitar Lessons
Lessons are held on a weekly basis. Your first lesson is a free trial lesson. If you are interested in continuing, you would set up a regular day and time that works best for you.
The goal is to give the student the most effective lesson that he or she is ready for at that particular time and make them a better guitar player and musician. The best and quickest way to improve is to have a strong foundation and understanding of scales, chords, and rhythm; and how to use them. That will all be worked on in a fun, practical, and easy to understand way. Learning tunes are also important so we usually begin working on them within the first few lessons, even if you’re a beginner guitarist.
Everyone is different. Two students just starting out may have entirely different lesson plans. It all depends on how you process things. Your lessons will be custom tailored just for you. All that being said, ultimately improvement depends on practicing. Daily practice is important. You’ll get more out of practicing fifteen minutes everyday, than bulking three hours all in only one day of the week. If you are a parent of a student, it's a good idea (in my opinion) to encourage your daughter or son to practice, especially when they are just starting out. When first starting to play guitar, my folks would ask everyday, “Did you practice today”. And I would say “No” and then go into my room and practice. This happened everyday until I started practicing on my own. "Thanks Mom and Dad."
Your first lesson is free to give you a chance to see how an actual lesson would go and to see if I am the right teacher for you. There is no obligation. If you are a parent or guardian, and would like to stay during the lessons, you are more than welcome to.
Thank you for considering PF Guitar Lessons!
